Palmilla opened in 1956, built by Don Abelardo Rodríguez on a headland between San José del Cabo and the Tourist Corridor, and it is the reason Los Cabos became a place people fly to for a wedding at all. The small white chapel on the point dates from that first build. It seats about 40 inside, and the terraces around it take 170 on the upper deck and 60 on the lower, which is how most couples use it: vows in the chapel doorway, drinks on the deck above the water. Dinner moves to the beach or to one of the lawns, and the resort has six restaurants to draw a rehearsal dinner or a farewell brunch out of, including one from Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The property runs to 174 rooms, suites and villas across about 250 acres, and it faces the Sea of Cortez rather than the Pacific, so the swimming beach is genuinely swimmable, which is not true of most of Cabo San Lucas. Two honest caveats. This is a full working resort, not a private estate, so other guests are on the property while you marry, and the wedding team quotes a room-block commitment alongside the venue fee for anything above a small ceremony. Book the chapel early; it is the single most requested hour in Los Cabos.

Casa Malca is the beachfront house on the Tulum hotel road at km 9.5 that once belonged to Pablo Escobar and now holds a serious contemporary art collection, opened as a hotel by the art dealer Lio Malca. The provenance is the first thing anyone mentions and the least interesting part. What matters for a wedding is that it is one of very few Tulum properties with both a real beach and enough rooms to hold a guest list: 71 suites, from garden rooms to beachfront, plus a beach club, a rooftop spa and several restaurants. Ceremonies happen on the sand. Receptions use the beach club or the jungle-side gardens, and the art hangs through all of it, which gives the pictures something no other venue on this coast has. The hotel takes weddings up to about 200 and its own materials name that figure. Two things to plan honestly. Tulum’s hotel zone runs on generators and a single two-lane road, so a 200-guest wedding here needs a transport plan, not a taxi rank. And sargassum lands on this beach in some summers, which no hotel controls; November to March is the reliable window for a clean shoreline.

Las Ventanas sits at km 19.5 of the Transpeninsular highway, on the Sea of Cortez side of the corridor, and it is the Cabo property that turned white stucco, hand-laid tile and flaming urns into a house style other resorts copied. There are 71 suites, most with a private plunge pool, on a beach wide enough to seat a dinner on. Three spaces carry most weddings. La Plaza is the oceanfront terrace, urns lit, sightlines running clean to the horizon, and it takes the largest receptions. The beach itself handles seated dinners with the surf behind the top table. La Cava, the wine room, is stone and candlelight and a cellar of several thousand bottles, and it is the rehearsal-dinner room in Los Cabos for a group under about 40. The resort keeps a dedicated romance team and an on-site studio where linen, floral and layout choices are made before anything is set up on the sand. Two things to plan around. This is a 71-suite resort rather than a private estate, so a genuinely private wedding means a buyout, which Rosewood group sales will quote but which is not cheap. And the beach here is on the Sea of Cortez, which means swimming is fine, but the same wind that makes the corridor pleasant in February will take a lightweight tablecloth in March.

Maroma opened in 1993 on Punta Maroma, halfway between Cancún and Playa del Carmen, and it was the first serious hotel on this stretch of the Riviera Maya. Belmond closed it for a full rebuild and reopened it in December 2023 with 72 rooms, suites and villas by the designer Tara Bernerd, so the property people knew for thirty years now reads as new work on old bones. The beach is the point: about 1,600 metres of it, on water that is calm enough to swim in most mornings. For weddings the resort will privatise the whole property for up to 200 guests, and the all-weather palapa takes the same number under cover, which matters on a coast where an afternoon squall in June is a normal event rather than a disaster. The kitchens are led by Curtis Stone at Woodend and by Daniel Camacho at Casa Mayor, and both are available for rehearsal dinners rather than only for the wedding itself. The resort itself suggests 100 to 150 as the size a celebration here runs best at. Two caveats worth naming. Sargassum reaches this coast in some summers and no hotel controls it, so check the season you are considering. And a full privatisation at 72 keys is an expensive way to guarantee privacy; ask for that number early.

Rosewood Mayakoba is built into a mangrove lagoon system inside the wider Mayakoba development, and the lagoons are the reason to choose it: guests move between the beach, the suites and the restaurants by boat, which turns the arrival at a ceremony into part of the day rather than a walk across a lawn. Six named spaces carry weddings. The Lagoon Lawn is the ceremony site, facing green water and dense mangrove. La Ceiba Garden and Kitchen is the dinner room, an outdoor kitchen built around a ceiba tree with a working chef’s garden supplying it and menus drawn from Yucatecan cooking. Aquí Me Quedo is the adults-only beachfront space, smaller and residential in scale. Casa del Lago pool deck, lit from under the water, holds late receptions, and the walled Los Agaves Lawn suits a welcome party. The Founder’s Villa, a five-bedroom beachfront house with its own infinity pool, is the closest thing here to a private estate. Two caveats. A full resort buyout is not standard at this size, so a wedding shares the property with other guests, and individual venues are privatised instead. And the boat transfers that make the place are slower than walking, so build the timeline with ten minutes of slack at each move.
