My wife and I spent a week here for our 20th anniversary at the beginning of January. We have been to Mexico numerous times previously and wanted to step it up a notch for our 20th. We knew going into it the room would be great. What really exceeded any expectations we had going into it though was the service and staff. Of all of the time we've spent in Mexico at various resorts, I've never encountered someone as happy and kind as Alberto. He wasn't one of the butlers, but EVERY time we saw him we were greeted with a smile and a "Hi Mr Dave, Hi Miss Pam." Every. Single. Time. It was obvious how much Alberto enjoys his job, and also how good he is at it. While driving us from the main drop off point to Palafitos check in we got numerous tips and a tour of the hotel. Incredible way to start off our stay and he kept it up through our entire trip. He was certainly a highlight of our time there. The butlers were great as well. We had Janet and Daniel for the majority of our trip and they were both very attentive and helpful. After being surprised to see my favorite bourbon at several of the bars on the resort, I asked Daniel if we could get a bottle for the room instead of the other options provided to us and he came through in no time at all. Janet was always a smiling face as well throughout the trip making sure we had everything we needed. Major kudos to both of them. The food. This was a different level than we have experienced before in Mexico. I personally don't care for going out to eat all that much because I can generally make better food myself at home. The creativity, uniqueness, presentation, and overall quality of the food here was something my wife and I could not stop talking about while we were there. Then you add in the staff at the Palafitos restaurant . . . wow. We ate at the street taco place for lunch once (should've gone a couple more times), and tried the asian restaurant on site, but we kept going back to the Palafitos restaurant. Ulises, Adan, Randy, Arturo, Montserrat, every single one of them was great every time we went. Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and always making sure we had everything we needed. They even helped us a bit with our espanol. We got to meet Oswaldo, the sommelier, on multiple occasions as well. Always friendly and helped us pick out a few wines to go with our dinners. The TLDR; version, we loved it here, and will 100% be back.
