Bruma Wine Resort in Valle de Guadalupe, open June – September.

Bruma is a winery, a hotel and a restaurant on the same land at km 75 of the Ensenada to Tecate road, in the middle of Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s wine country an hour and a half south of San Diego.

Casa 8 is the events house: eight suites, a pool, a private tasting room and a terrace looking down the vines, with a walled wine garden set among olive trees where most ceremonies happen.

What makes Bruma worth the drive is the kitchen.

Fauna is run by David Castro Hussong, who cooked at Eleven Madison Park and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, and Maribel Aldaco Silva, named Latin America’s best pastry chef in 2024.

07 · Questions

Asked along the way.

How many guests can Bruma hold for a wedding?+

Bruma does not publish a capacity. Valle de Guadalupe planners work Casa 8 for weddings of roughly 75 to 120 guests, with intimate celebrations under 40 also common. Aisle records the range as 20 to 120; confirm your number with the estate directly.

What does a Bruma wedding cost?+

Planners report couples spending between $40,000 and $90,000 USD all in for 75 to 120 guests, covering venue, accommodation, catering from Fauna, beverages and coordination. Bruma does not publish a venue fee, so this is a reported range rather than a quote.

Where do guests stay?+

Casa 8 has eight suites and Bruma has further rooms on the estate, which covers the wedding party. The valley as a whole has limited accommodation, so most guest lists are housed in Ensenada, about 30 minutes away, with coaches out to the estate.

How do guests get to Valle de Guadalupe?+

Most fly into San Diego (SAN) and drive, roughly two and a half hours including the Tijuana border crossing, which can take an hour on a Friday. Tijuana (TIJ) is 90 minutes and avoids the queue. Ensenada is 30 minutes from the estate.

When is the best time of year in the valley?+

Late September through November, after the harvest, is the valley at its best: warm days, cold nights, the vines still in leaf. Spring works too. June to August is hot and dusty, and December to February is cold enough that an outdoor dinner needs heaters.
