We stayed here as part of an anniversary trip. The hotel itself is very nice and really lent itself to an upscale + proper Italian vibe over staying with a major hotel chain. Lobby is gorgeous. Our room was one the ‘Smart’ rooms, and while it had more of an old money vibe than the sleek and modern lobby, it was very cozy and romantic. Complimentary minibar was a nice touch, and we had a balcony and openable windows with a good view of the Duomo. My only critique is the bathtub was a little slippery when attempting to take a shower, but a great room. The front desk staff was great, including Lapo who checked us in and allowed us to hold bags early. Staff was very welcoming all around and always stopped their conversations to greet us. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was an incredible spread, with savory options as well as the traditional Italian pastries. This was a highlight, with the great views of the city, and Alessandro the maître d’ was great as well. It’s a great location, just a couple blocks from SMN station making it great for arriving by train. There’s an underground passage that deposits you right out front of the hotel as well. It’s just a few minutes on foot from the Duomo, but with how walkable Florence is, most of the major attractions are *at most* a 30 min walk. Would definitely recommend!
