WOHA designed it in 2009 as a grid of volcanic-stone walls and lava-rock roofs stepping down a limestone headland on the southern Bukit, and it has been the reference point for every cliff venue built since.
There are 84 villas, each with its own pool, and the architecture is deliberately hard-edged: no thatch, no frangipani, just stone, water and the drop.
The ceremony space is the Bale Kambang, a glass-walled pavilion cantilevered out over the cliff about 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, and it seats a small group with the horizon filling three walls.

A true 5/5 resort. Anyone rating anything less needs a reality check 😆. Every detail has been thought out, and they have everything you could need. We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was exceptional.

Ngurah Rai International (DPS) is about 26 km north, roughly 40 minutes by car outside rush hour and closer to an hour in the late afternoon. The resort arranges transfers, and most couples book a shuttle loop for guest arrivals rather than leave it to taxis.
Can we get legally married here?+
Most international couples hold a symbolic ceremony at the resort and register the marriage at home. An Indonesian legal marriage needs a Certificate of No Impediment from your embassy, a religious ceremony in one of the six recognised religions, and registration at the Kantor Catatan Sipil.
When is the best time of year?+
The Bukit clifftops are windy year round and the wind picks up through the middle of the day, which is one reason ceremonies here are set for late afternoon.
