Don't even know where to begin. We loved our stay at Uma Kalai so much that we extended it twice (a whole extra week). We stayed in the "Jala Suite with Mountain View" which has the best view by far. The room also had a spacious layout and we were happy spending multiple days just inside the room playing games (which Uma Kalai has for guests to borrow). I've read in many Bali accom reviews how the staff go above and beyond, but in my experience in Bali (which is a lot), nowhere has given me reason to make that comment until I stayed at Uma Kalai. Special shout out to Gusti for understanding exactly how I wanted my eggs cooked in the morning πŸ€£πŸ€— amongst other things! And to Eka, attentive and generous with Uma Kalai gifts and a beautiful genuine smile to remember! The running of Uma Kalai is like a well oiled machine. From brilliant grounds keeping/cleaning, responding to whatsapp requests or queries in minutes, prompt and consistent butler service, to daily cleaning whilst we have breakfast and daily turn down service, everything is consistent and appreciated. *Except sorry one thing that lacked consistency was the food. We didn't mind at all that the menu was limited, and we definitely had our favourites (e.g., grilled chicken), however day by day if we ordered the same items they would change and sometimes not in the way we liked.* The gym was perfect for us as we wanted to do daily workouts. Massages at the spa were always what we needed however the pedicure service could be a bit better with training and offering of more than clear polish which wasnt nice after a few days. Thanks to ALL the staff, we will be back πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½

We had an incredible time at this truely magical place. Clearly one expects that the standard of the rooms, cleanliness, and general upkeep will be 5star, which they were, but it's the personality and hospitality of the service that really sets this place apart. Nothing was too much for Gusti and his team. They thought of everything and were genuinely happy to wait on us. For our birthday celebration they so kindly arranged celebrations, cake, floating breakfasts; all as a wonderful gift from them. A gorgeous place with gorgeous people, I will definitely be returning.

Uma Kalai is calm, intimate, and very well executed. Came in the morning β€” beautiful valley views, warm welcome, and extremely attentive breakfast service (they really care about the details). The jamu class felt authentic, and the 90-minute massage was intense and effective. Villas are private and thoughtfully designed. Sunset drinks overlooking the valley were the perfect finish. Highly recommended.
