Passalacqua in Moltrasio, open AprilNovember.

Built in 1784 as a aristocratic lakeside residence, Passalacqua has been meticulously restored to preserve its 18th-century neoclassical architecture while offering contemporary luxury.

This five-star hotel on Lake Como's western shore retains its original frescoed ceilings, grand staircases, and manicured Italian gardens—the same spaces that once hosted European nobility.

Today, the 11-room property functions as an intimate destination wedding venue where historical grandeur meets modern hospitality.

Is this the world’s best hotel? Yes! Everything about this place is stunning. An oasis fitting of the location. Each room is handcrafted and unique. Luxury knows no limits. I wasn’t a guest, but a travel professional who got a thorough tour, seeing all rooms and suites. I’m free to form my own opinion and stand by everything aforementioned. The staff, and management are all wonderful. There is a genuine family feel here, despite the awards and status. Staff are dedicated to, and pride themselves on the project. They are all good people who seem to love their jobs and this shines through. And sometimes, regardless of location and luxury, that’s what really makes a stay perfect!
