Positioned in the heart of Périgord's rolling countryside, Hotel Restaurant L'Abbaye commands views across medieval stone architecture and manicured gardens that date back centuries.
The 32 Rue de l'Abbaye des Augustins address places you within a restored monastery complex, where honey-colored stone walls and mature oak trees create a landscape of genuine historical weight.
This setting—neither overstated nor rural—offers the gravitas of old French ecclesiastical spaces without theatrical pretense.
We had a great experience, we were made to feel very welcome and we enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast. Close to many attractions and a special homely feel to the place. Would be great for private events. Clean quiet room and large bed. Our little dog was welcome, would stay again no question.

Asked along the way.
What makes the abbey setting historically significant?+
The venue occupies a restored Augustinian monastery in Saint-Cyprien, preserving original stone masonry and cloistered grounds. The abbey structure dates to the 13th century and retains period architectural elements throughout.
Can we hold both ceremony and reception on-site?+
Yes. The abbey courtyard and interior chapel spaces accommodate ceremonies, while the hotel restaurant handles reception dining. This single-location format simplifies logistics and keeps guests on property throughout the day.
How far is the venue from major transportation?+
Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport is approximately 90 kilometers away (1.5 hours by car). The village of Saint-Cyprien sits in rural Périgord, so ground transportation or rental cars are recommended for guest travel.
What accommodation options exist for guests?+
The hotel offers on-site rooms within the abbey complex, allowing guests to stay steps from ceremony and reception venues. This eliminates the need to arrange external accommodations for your core party.
Are there backup plans for outdoor ceremonies?+
The property includes both courtyard and interior chapel spaces. Weather contingencies can shift ceremonies indoors without relocating guests or catering operations.
