Domes Zeen is the design answer to the question of what a Cretan beach resort should look like, and it won an AHEAD design award for it.
The property sits in a cove at Kato Daratso, a few minutes west of Chania, laid out as open-plan bungalows and pavilions in wood, cane and pale stone rather than the concrete blocks that line most of this coast.
There are 105 or so keys, many with private pools or open-air lounges, two restaurants and a beach bar for the end of the night.
For a wedding, the argument is location as much as looks: Chania old town, its Venetian harbour and its lighthouse are 10 minutes away, so guests get a real city on their doorstep instead of a resort strip, and the airport is 25 minutes.

We stayed for five nights in a 2-bedroom villa. The villa was spacious, with 2 great bathrooms. It is very modern, with a large terrace and a small pool. The room was clean.

The resort does not publish a seated wedding capacity. With around 105 keys, two restaurants, gardens and a beach bar, we plan around 150 as an upper estimate and treat it as a figure to confirm with the resort for your date and layout.
Can we marry on the beach here?+
The resort sits on its own cove with a beach bar on the sand, which is the usual ceremony setting. Ask which stretch is exclusive to you on the day and what the fallback is, because a north-coast Cretan afternoon can carry more wind than the photographs suggest.
How does Crete compare on cost to Santorini?+
Planner guidance consistently puts Crete below Santorini per guest, mostly because suppliers, transport and accommodation are cheaper on a large island with an airport that takes charter flights. The gap widens as the guest list grows.
What is there for guests to do?+
Chania old town is 10 minutes away, with the Venetian harbour, the lighthouse and a proper restaurant scene. Balos and Elafonissi beaches are day trips west, and the Samaria gorge is within reach for anyone who wants a walk.
How far is the airport?+
Chania (Souda) airport is about 25 minutes by car. Heraklion is roughly two and a half hours east, so tell guests to book into CHQ. The ferry port at Souda takes the overnight boat from Piraeus, which is about 20 minutes away.
