Kalesma opened in 2020 on the hill of Aleomandra, between Ornos bay and Agios Ioannis beach, and it is the property Mykonos couples have been asking for since: quiet, low, built out of stone and wood rather than white gloss, and pointed at the sunset instead of at a DJ booth. The name means invitation in Greek, and the whole plan reads that way, a run of suites and villas along a ridge with private pools, arranged so the property can be taken whole. That is the wedding case here. Kalesma sells full buyouts, which on this island is the only reliable way to stop a wedding sharing a terrace with a hotel’s other guests in August. Ceremonies happen on the ridge with the Aegean behind; dinner runs at Pere Ubu, the Mediterranean restaurant, or at Kuveda, the tavern. Planner listings put weddings here at up to about 150 guests. The caveat is the same as the appeal: this is a hillside of separate buildings, so guests walk between them on stone paths, in the dark, after dinner.
