The manor is Grade II* and largely 17th century; the village around it was remodelled in 1939 by Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect who built Portmeirion, which is why the cottages, the village hall and the water gardens all read as one piece of design.
Weddings run from May to October on a minimum three-day hire, so the estate is yours from the Friday: dinner in the walled garden, a ceremony in the gardens or the church, and a marquee in the field above the manor that takes up to 300 guests.
Twelve bedrooms sleep 24 in the manor itself and the estate cottages take more, with the rest of the party in Chipping Norton or Kingham.
