Borgo Pignano in Volterra, open June–November.
Borgo Pignano stands apart as a fully restored 12th-century Tuscan hamlet where guests stay within the venue itself, eliminating the logistics of coordinating separate hotels.
This 40-hectare property in Volterra offers on-site accommodations across restored farmhouses, allowing multi-day celebrations that feel like private retreats rather than day events.
The venue's agricultural roots—with working vineyards, olive groves, and a farm-to-table restaurant—create an authentic Tuscan experience impossible to replicate at conventional wedding spaces.
We stayed at Borgo for 3 nights in August last year and have been meaning to write this review for some time, after having such a memorable experience. The service and attention to detail are incredible. We hired a car as intended on taking day trips, though next time would get a transfer from Florence as there’s no need to leave! We loved the pools, tennis court, hiking trails, spa, sunset drinks and dining options - all enough to fill your days and enjoy a slower pace. The manager (regretfully forget his name) took us on a tour of the property, which was fascinating, to see the facilities, orchard and vineyard. It’s an experience we’ll never forget and we will definitely be back - hopefully sooner rather than later ☺️
