Ütia de Börz in Passo delle Erbe, open April–November.
A mountain lodge alone on a 2,006-metre pass between Val Badia and the Funes valley, facing the sheer pale face of Sass de Pütia across the meadows — the highest wedding setting on our list, and the wildest.
The old hut has been refit in contemporary stone-pine with hotel-grade rooms, a sauna, and a terrace restaurant known for Ladin cooking; the Sass Dlacia family group runs it, and real weddings here are documented by the region’s best photographers even though the lodge publishes no formal program.
Ceremonies happen on the pass meadows at two thousand metres, dinner runs long on the terrace, and the handful of rooms sleep the core party overnight above the clouds.
Summer season late May to mid-October; winter mid-December to mid-March.

Asked along the way.
How many guests can Ütia de Börz host?+
The lodge publishes no event figures — it hosts documented real weddings at intimate-to-medium scale (estimated 20–60 on the terrace and meadows), with a small number of rooms sleeping the core party. Enquire at info@boerz.it.
How do guests reach a wedding at 2,006 metres?+
By the pass road from Val Badia or the Funes valley — a spectacular mountain drive. The road closes seasonally; the lodge operates late May to mid-October and mid-December to mid-March, so plan inside those windows.
Can you stay overnight at Ütia de Börz?+
Yes — unusually for a rifugio, it has designed hotel-grade rooms (from about €65 per person) and a sauna, so the couple and closest guests can wake up on the pass the morning after.
