Known for fresh Scottish seafood and locally-sourced ingredients, The Badachro Inn transforms into a sophisticated wedding venue where the landscape becomes part of your ceremony.
We visited The Badachro Inn this evening with our service dog and two well-behaved obedience dogs after seeing it advertised as dog friendly. On arrival, we were told by a waitress that there were no tables available as everything was “reserved”, despite two separate couples walking in after us without bookings being seated immediately. This already felt inconsistent, but we were willing to wait. A table then became free and we politely asked if we could sit there. We were abruptly told “no, you can’t, it’s taken” with no further explanation or alternative offered. As we walked in, a waiter gestured to the waitress that we had three dogs. From that point, the attitude changed noticeably, and it was clear we would not be seated. It felt as though had we not had dogs with us, a table would have been found for us. We are very familiar with dog-friendly venues, and our dogs are well-behaved and under control at all times. However, despite being advertised as dog friendly, we did not feel welcome. We also observed tables being occupied by locals drinking at the bar rather than dining, which made the refusal feel even more inconsistent with the explanation given to us. We left disappointed, particularly given the setting and reputation of the pub.
