I stayed at the Myrtle Bank while I was working in Gairloch and cannot recommend it enough. From the moment I first made contact every staff member I spoke to was so lovely. I'd called on my way to ask about dinner reservations and what time dinner ended and was advised guests that are staying will always have a table and that regardless of what time I arrived I'd still be able to eat. Its care like this that really makes you feel welcomed and looked after. The room was clean and had everything you'd need, plenty of parking available as well and there are several EV charging points literally less than a minute (located at Gairloch Community centre and the Co-Op). The food was absolutely outstanding, I ate in the restaurant every night and every meal was excellent. There is plenty of variety and as someone who is quite fussy there were plenty of options. Thank you for a brilliant stay and making me feel so at home, hopefully I'll get to visit again at some point.

07 · Questions

Asked along the way.

Can we accommodate our entire wedding party under one roof?+

Yes. The hotel has 20 en-suite bedrooms available for guests, plus ceremony and reception facilities on-site. This eliminates the need to coordinate multiple accommodations.

What dining options are available?+

The hotel's restaurant serves Scottish cuisine with emphasis on fresh seafood sourced from Gairloch's fishing fleet. Custom menus can be arranged for wedding celebrations.

What's the weather like for an outdoor ceremony?+

Highland weather is unpredictable year-round. The hotel provides indoor backup spaces, and summer months (June-August) offer the longest daylight and mildest conditions.

How far is this from major cities?+

Gairloch is approximately 60 miles northwest of Inverness. The remote location is part of its appeal—guests experience authentic Scottish Highlands away from urban areas.

What activities can guests enjoy during a multi-day celebration?+

Guests can fish, hike coastal trails, explore nearby Inverewe Garden, or simply enjoy the loch setting. The village atmosphere provides a retreat feel rather than typical tourist infrastructure.
