Santo Wines is the island’s cooperative winery, above Pyrgos on the caldera side, and it is where a Santorini wedding goes when the guest list outgrows a cliff terrace.
The tasting terraces step down the slope with the caldera and the volcano in front of them, and the scale of the place means a hundred-odd people can stand with a glass without anyone queueing on a staircase.
Ceremonies happen outside on the terrace; the reception moves to the indoor hall, which the winery quotes for events of around 110 people.

This place is one of my favorite wine experiences in the world. The variety of wines are interesting and the combination with the views makes it one of the best wine tastings in Europe and it’s even better during sunset.

Pyrgos is roughly 10 minutes by car from Santorini (Thira) airport and about 10 minutes from Athinios port, which makes this one of the easiest venues on the island for guests arriving on the day.
