Not a five-star experience. A disappointing start to our honeymoon. We stayed in one of the newer rooms with a balcony and returned from dinner to find the room infested with flies, even though we had never opened any windows or doors. It was genuinely disgusting. The attached photos were taken after we had already killed around 30 flies. Throughout the night I had flies land on me and it was a horrible experience. We contacted the front desk, and about 30 minutes later, someone arrived around 11 p.m. to offer us a room change. At that point, my husband was already asleep and most of the flies were killed. We also tried to use the hot tub in the Secret Garden, but the water was so dirty and cloudy that it felt unsafe to enter. Another major disappointment. At checkout, the front desk staff apologized and said that management had approved a refund due to the poor experience. Since we had prepaid, they said they would send an email confirming the refund so we could submit it through our credit card company. I never asked for compensation. This was offered to us. That email never arrived. It has now been over a month since our stay, and although the hotel initially responded to us on WhatsApp, they have since stopped replying. We were promised a refund twice and received nothing. Unfortunately, the first night of our honeymoon was marked by poor conditions and broken promises. There are many better hotels in the area, and I would recommend choosing one of them instead. Villa Lena being a much better experience for us.
