Palazzo San Lorenzo Hotel & Spa in Colle di Val d'Elsa, open June–November.
Palazzo San Lorenzo is a meticulously restored Renaissance palazzo in Colle di Val d'Elsa, a medieval Tuscan hilltop town.
Originally constructed in the 16th century as a noble family residence, the building underwent comprehensive restoration to preserve its architectural integrity while integrating modern hospitality amenities.
The hotel now operates as a luxury venue combining period stonework, frescoed ceilings, and contemporary spa facilities across its carefully maintained historic structure.
I booked a hotel and indicated that I would be traveling with a child, including my child’s age. Then, two months after my booking — just one month before the trip — I received information stating that children under 14 are not allowed to use the swimming pool, and that if my husband and I wanted to use the pool, it would cost €25 per person per day. Seriously? I have never had to pay for using a swimming pool in any European hotel. I understand paying for parking, but a swimming pool? Of course, I canceled the reservation, but now I have to look for a new hotel right before my trip.
