I have been visiting and playing golf at Monte Rei since 2013 and have also stayed on the resort with my family. I have always thoroughly enjoyed my visits to Monte Rei and the service has always been excellent. I have regularly recommended Monte Rei to my friends and family. So, I was really looking forward to returning in September to play golf with a group of friends, who have also previously played Monte Rei. However, our enquiry was turned down as our group is 6 people and in September we were told they were only taking bookings for 4 balls or multiples of 4. This was a big surprise and quite odd as all other courses will just break us into a 4 ball and a 2 ball and add another 2 people to our 2 ball to make a 4, and we are happy with that. This wasn't even offered as an option. They are clearly trying to make life as easy as possible for themselves and to maximise their income during busy periods, but they need to be aware of the longer term impact on their business of this policy. The main one being upsetting regular loyal customers. Myself and my friends will now think twice about returning and will no longer be speaking as positively about Monte Rei. I never thought I would be writing this type of review for Monte Rei, but I am just so disappointed. Come on Monte Rei, you can do better than this.

Are guest accommodations included?+
Monte Rei operates an on-site hotel with rooms available for wedding guests. This is arranged separately from the venue fee and allows guests to remain on-property throughout the celebration.
What's the best time of year for a wedding here?+
April–May and September–October offer ideal weather (mild temperatures, minimal rain) and showcase the Algarve's natural beauty. Summer is possible but can be very hot; winter is mild but occasionally rainy.
