We had the most fabulous stay with Sylvie and Pascal at the Les Chênes Rouges Bed-and-breakfast the day after Christmas. I was traveling with my son and daughter-in-law on my first visit to the area, and we just needed a place for one night. The rooms were modern and perfect as far as accommodating our needs, as well as having a lovely décor. As a retired senior, I took advantage of booking the “accessible“ room on the first floor. Everything was considered for someone who is not as mobile as others. (I especially appreciated the heated floors!) The breakfast was what you would expect at a B&B, offering many choices. However, I recommend taking advantage of adding the option of having dinner on the premises, prepared by Chef Pascal. We were so surprised to have such a gourmet meal prepared for us, including homemade foie gras, duck confit, and Pavlova (for dessert). If you are looking for somewhere to stay while exploring the Dordogne region, this is the perfect place to be your “homebase,” close to all the tourist sites you want to visit, including the Château Des Milandes, within a short walking distance. Sylvie and Pascal were so welcoming to my family and are excellent hosts. I highly recommend them!
