We have stayed in Hotel Abbazia for 3 nights while exploring Venice. Have chosen the hotel for it's historic value, charm and remained extremely pleased with our stay and overall experience. Our room was spacious, well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, newly and charmingly decorated, extremely clean. It overlooked the inner garden and rest of the Abbey. The breakfast served was plentiful with huge variety of hot dishes, cold cuts, cereal, fruits, pastries and freshly baked cakes. Every day there would be some changes to variety served, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast room itself had a communal feeling to it leaving plenty opportunities to meet other people, connect and have a little breakfast conversation. Hotel had a charming bar and resting/ relaxing area, which we absolutely wanted to use, but were not able to due to all the other things we have planned throughout our stay. Hotel staff we have met during our stay was extremely kind, polite and had attention to detail in everything they did. I can't recommend this hotel enough and hope to come back and stay during any future trips to Venice. It's an absolute gem offering excellent value for money. Huge Thank You to hotel management and all the staff for a fantastic experience and stay!

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station while traveling between Munich and Rome. It’s a 5-minute walk through a dark but safe alley. The converted abbey is unique, but we were charged extra for our child. Unfortunately, our room was small and smelled so bad we had to keep the windows open—staff claimed this was 'normal.' We stayed two nights and enjoyed the good breakfast.

Hotel is nice and close to the station so very convenient for travellers. The hotel is a renovated monastery with a really nice aesthetic. Friendly staff and easy check in service. Very quiet in the lobby. Comfortable bed and slept like a dream. However, there were some negatives in the room that stood out to me unfortunately. First one was the amount of black mould in the shower—so much that I avoided using it for duration of our stay. I used the free-standing bath instead. It was so thick and growing along all the edges of the shower and the shower head. It takes two seconds to spray a mould killer, let it sit for a few mins and wipe it away. Second, I found a blood mark on the wall from the previous guests right by the toilet. The room was also very hot and stuffy, strong chemical smell—we had to open the windows open a few times because of how stuffy it was. The main lights weren’t working so it was dark. Last comment is how unusual it is to not see tea and coffee in the rooms, that’s definitely a first but I’m sure there’s a reason for it. The stay wasn’t miserable but the mould is a big issue that I think the hotel needs to deal with.
