Hôtel Mercure Granville Le GrandLarge

The hotel has recently undergone renovations, and unfortunately this is very noticeable in a negative way. The property still smells strongly of paint and varnish, and although we were told that the renovation of our room had been completed several weeks earlier, there were many unfinished details. The shower was particularly disappointing, with very poor water pressure, making it uncomfortable to use. We were also promised a room with a partial sea view. In reality, the sea was only visible if you stepped out onto the balcony and leaned far over the railing. This does not correspond to what most guests would reasonably expect from a “partial sea view.” Parking is another major issue. The hotel parking is extremely narrow and difficult to maneuver. If you are traveling with a large car, I would strongly advise against using it. To make matters worse, the parking area is cluttered with construction materials, which further reduces space and creates an unwelcoming impression. Finally, upon arrival we spent more than 15 minutes searching for a receptionist in order to check in. This is simply not acceptable for a hotel of this category. Overall, the hotel does not currently meet the standards one would expect from a Mercure property, especially considering the price and the four-star positioning.
