This hotel is located perfectly in Menaggio, with its own dock, a pool with sunbeds, and close to the ferry/boats to other towns around Lake Como The hotel common areas are okay, but outside by the pool an the ocean it is breathtaking. A fantastic spot to have drinks, enjoy the sun or have a swim. Our experience with the staff was mixed. Some were welcoming and understanding, while others felt less approachable and annoyed. The housekeepers were fantastic: attentive, efficient, and kept the room spotless. We wanted real, separate duvets, not just a nasty old blanket with a sheet on (yes, that was on the bed when we came), and they delivered. This elevated our stay significantly! The breakfast staff also brought a positive energy, always friendly and attentive. One of the best breakfasts i’ve had in Italy. A lot of options, and a cook who makes fresh omelettes and eggs. Something for everyone. Always a highlight. I can not reccomend the restaurant though, the food is too expensive, and not impressive at all. You can get a great dinner elswhere in Menaggio for a lot cheaper. The room was comfortable overall, but in my opinion, it has seen its best days. There are cracks in the ceiling, the tapistry is loose and the carpet floors has stains in them. There is also always a smell, though mild enough to get used to. The style is old-fasioned Italian rooms. Charming, but not close to a luxurious feeling. Just know what to expect. If you are looking for a hotel in Menaggio with a great location, beautiful outdoor-area and pool, and a good breakfast, this will deliver just that. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel, with great service and spotless rooms, this hotel might dissapoint.
