Grand Hotel Victoria, originally constructed in 1885 as a Belle Époque lakeside palace, has welcomed guests through its restored grand halls for nearly 140 years.
The property underwent extensive renovation to blend its historical architectural details with contemporary spa amenities, maintaining period features while modernizing guest experiences.
Positioned directly on Lake Como's shores in Menaggio, the hotel offers ceremony and reception spaces with unobstructed water views and mountain backdrops.
The staff truly made our stay exceptional. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine sense of hospitality were evident at every moment, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. A special mention goes to Mrs Speziale, who graciously upgraded us to a room with a better view as soon as it became available during our stay, a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. The concierge team was also outstanding, managing to secure tables in fully booked restaurants and arranging a driver for us even at the very last minute. The spa was another highlight: impressively spacious and perfectly designed for complete relaxation. We also loved the various areas dedicated to rest and leisure, including the swimming pool and the beach club. Everything seems carefully planned to ensure that guests can fully enjoy themselves, even over several days. Breakfast was remarkable, generous, varied, and delicious. Fresh watermelon juice, chocolate fondants, focaccia, and many other options made every morning a real pleasure. The only minor drawback was the payment policy: the room had to be prepaid by card over the phone to confirm the booking, unlike other hotels where paying on-site is possible. Still, this small inconvenience was far outweighed by the overall quality of the service and the thoughtful touches that made our stay so enjoyable.
