Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice in Venezia, open June–September.
Danieli occupies a 14th-century Venetian palazzo on the Grand Canal's waterfront promenade, where gondolas pass directly before the hotel's marble facade and guests command unobstructed views across the Basin of San Marco toward the Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore.
The five-star property features 219 rooms across three interconnected buildings, blending Renaissance architecture with contemporary Four Seasons service along one of Venice's most historic quays.
Ceremonies and receptions unfold on terraces suspended above the lagoon, where the salt water and passing boat traffic create the unmistakable atmosphere of a city built on water.
We spent three days at the Danieli. A major advantage of the hotel is its location by St. Mark’s Square, along with the beautiful view of the lagoon from the window. The hotel has an incredible, romantic atmosphere, a stunning hall and lobby, and the charming Terrazza restaurant, which arguably offers the most beautiful view in all of Venice. Unlike the reception staff, the restaurant staff are very kind and welcoming. Breakfasts on the terrace were simply magical. In the afternoons, we enjoyed pleasant moments over coffee in the hotel’s beautiful lobby. If you want to indulge in pure romance and feel as if you’ve stepped back into the times of Agatha Christie, then Danieli will fulfill that perfectly. It is an iconic hotel with a long history.
