We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation is a perfect base to explore Tuscany – Volterra, San Gimignano, and Pisa are all within easy reach. At the same time, it’s peaceful with stunning views. The staff deserves a special mention: incredibly friendly, attentive, and always helpful – truly outstanding! The restaurant is another highlight, absolutely top quality and highly recommended. The rooms are simply furnished but spotlessly clean. Overall, the value for money is excellent. We also loved the extra services such as the e-mountain bike rental and the possibility to book a massage directly at the property. Another big plus: dogs are very welcome here, which we really appreciated! We would definitely love to come back and recommend this place!

I had a reservation for 4 nights at this hotel, fully paid in advance. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The room was in terrible condition: a strong, unbearable smell of old furniture and mold, dust everywhere, cobwebs, and even dead bugs. The walls were dirty, cracked, and stained, the bed frame was rusty with chipped paint, and the chair cover was full of stains. The air conditioning did not work properly – it did not cool at all and made a horrible noise, making it impossible to rest. On top of that, the door was cracked and broken, with gaps through which you could see outside, and the windows were filthy. I am not a picky or negative person, and I have traveled extensively, but this is the first time I feel the need to write such a negative review. When you pay a considerable amount per night and look forward to a well-deserved vacation, you simply cannot accept such conditions. Unfortunately, the staff’s attitude was just as unprofessional. The lady at the reception came with us to the room, admitted the issues, yet refused to find a mutual solution and did not allow us to speak with a manager. The only option was to contact Booking, and after long discussions I had to accept losing the money for two nights, while the refund for the other two came from Booking, not the hotel. I find it unacceptable that, on a guest’s money, there is such a lack of respect and professionalism. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Disappointing. Feels like the owners had given up. Yes, everything that was mentioned was there, but all is said with that. The room smelled of humid, this was because of mold in the (tiny!) bathroom. I cannot believe they let people stay here. They should be ashamed putting people in this hazardous environment. With the amount I payed, this is unacceptable. Towels were poor, used. Bed extremely uncomfortable, we barely fit in it, in length and in width. Edges were sharp, difficult to sleep. There were bugs in the room, due to poor possibility of closing the windows. The atmosphere was very unwelcoming, staff did not even say anything in the morning at the breakfast location. Why didn’t I mention it during the stay? Because I read reviews of other customers the week before, and I could not cancel anymore. So obviously they were aware of the issues and didn’t care to do anything about it. Sad. Didn’t want to have a bad day, so didn’t mention it. Will NEVER go back.
