We spent four days here in mid-October while my wife was at a conference at nearby Hellenic Med. University. We really enjoyed our stay here Breakfast is a key element to my day, and their buffet was the perfect balance of decadence and health. Pancakes, omelettes and egg dishes are available from the kitchen (and included with the free buffet). Honey you can scrape from the comb, oranges to freshly squeeze into juice, champagne for your mimosas - it's a well-thought out spread of delicious food. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant are also well worth sticking around for. I was a bit bored with the chicken sandwich I got as part of their beach club menu offering, but the restaurant's menu offers delicious seafood, pasta and some traditional Greek meals. There are also plenty of incredible restaurants all along the main strip. We had rented a car for our trip and parking was plentiful just off the buildings. But there is a bus that can take you downtown that runs along the main strip (easy walk from the hotel). The room was splendid. We had a corner room on the top floor with a balcony that overlooked the sea and the mountains to the west. Ignore the power plant that is up the beach and the entire scene was delightful. The sound of the waves through the open balcony door was perfect. The bathroom was nice, the bed comfortable, and the extra space of the suite was nice to spread out into to read and listen to the sound of waves with the slight tang of salt air stirring through the flutterings drapes. There are several lovely cats hanging around keeping the place mice-free. They will gladly accept samplings of your delicious meals and offer a warm welcoming when you return after an adventure in Heraklion or the many, many things to do while using this well-run hotel as a hub for adventures. Of course, the beach, the crystal clear water and the sun might just keep you hanging around all day like yours truly. Either way, this is a wonderful place to stay.
