A neoclassical villa built in 1837 on the slope of Monte Mario, the highest hill in Rome, about fifteen minutes from the centre.
The reason it is the city’s default wedding venue is the terrace: the whole of Rome laid out below with the dome of St Peter’s in the middle of it, and no other private venue in the city stages a dinner against that.
Inside, the Salone delle Feste takes up to 550, the Salone Veneziano 160, and four connected first-floor rooms seat about 220 between them, with the patio handling outdoor banquets to 500.
It is an events villa rather than a hotel, which is the honest caveat: nobody sleeps here, so your accommodation is a block in central Rome and your guests transfer up the hill and back down again.
