01 · In a sentence

Villa Monastero Pax in Lenno, open JulyDecember.

Villa Monastero Pax sits directly on Lake Como's shoreline, giving you immediate access to water views without fighting for sightlines.

The garden spans across terraced grounds that naturally slope toward the lake, meaning your ceremony placement determines guest comfort—lower terraces stay cooler in summer heat.

With 150-person capacity, you'll manage logistics across the property's distinct zones rather than cramming everything into one space.

We chose Villa Monastero for our wedding planned for 2020. Covid has unfortunately meant that the day could not proceed as we had wanted it, with our loved ones flying in from all over the world. When we asked the Villa to move the date, the response was that this is only possible if we paid more of a deposit (we have already paid them 50%). Additionally, we have lost deposits to their exclusive vendors (catering, music) as well as a wedding planner and photographer (including fights). We understand that the industry has had a tough time but couples should also be considered, when a lot of time, money has been invested.

07 · Questions

Asked along the way.

Can we have a ceremony right on the water?+

The villa permits ceremonies on the lower garden terraces with direct lake views. Water-level ceremonies require special permits from local authorities (typically 4-6 week process). Your planner can advise on feasibility based on your date.

What's the weather like in peak wedding season?+

May-September averages 72-79°F. June and September offer the most stable conditions. July-August can exceed 85°F, so the garden's elevation changes provide natural shade relief in different zones.

How far is this from major airports?+

Milan Malpensa Airport is approximately 50 miles away (75 minutes by car). Como train station is 15 minutes away if guests prefer rail transfer from Milan.

Are there accommodations on-site?+

Villa Monastero Pax functions as an event venue; it does not operate as a hotel. Guest accommodations are available at nearby Lenno properties ranging from 3-5 star hotels within walking distance.

Can we use outside catering?+

The venue has preferred catering partners, though outside caterers may be approved on a case-by-case basis with additional coordination fees.
