This boutique hotel, originally the Italian Villa belonging to Gore Vidal, is sumptuous, private and a complete indulgence. It came recommended by a longtime wilderness and architecture guide who my family has done multiple trips with. My wife and I were traveling in later season (October) and even then, Ravello and environs are abuzz and crowded. But as soon as you go through the gates and its private garden paths towards the Villa, you have a world to yourself. If you go, get ready for to be treated to the top notch chef talents of Enrico and the drinks and dessert program of Marcello. Some nights we were ready for the full tasting experience, but other nights we wanted something light and creative, and they came through with flying colors. As well, the entire staff is gracious and care greatly about making sure you happy, comfortable and content.
