We had an incredible stay at Villa di Piazzano as one of the stops on our honeymoon. The villa itself is stunning – truly out of this world, perched on the Umbrian/Tuscan border. Our rooms were immaculate. We started in a main villa room, but it was a bit noisy for us light-sleepers, so we switched to a courtyard room. These are more modern but still full of charming Italian character, and much quieter. The staff absolutely make this place – they couldn’t do enough to ensure a memorable stay. The pool area is outstanding, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the views. Watching the resident pup playing by the pool was such a charming touch. The spa and massages were a lovely honeymoon treat. The food is glorious, albeit pricey, and one night we had delicious room service. We also loved spending hours playing chess inside the main villa. Evenings in Cortona were a lovely change of scenery, though a car is essential unless you’re happy to pay for taxis. All in all, a magical villa experience – highly recommended!
