I had a wedding event here on October 3rd. A small intimate wedding ceremony of 52 guests total. Everything was beautiful and almost picture perfect with everything arranged almost perfectly. A beautiful sunset at the villa for a wedding. The reviews here regarding a gift card box being emptied and stolen inside the venue was during my wedding. All the reviews were real and honest from our guests during our wedding. The gift card box that contained almost $2000-$3000 was emptied and stolen inside the venue early on during the evening. My husband and I went through our photos from our friends and family and discovered that it was most likely stolen during the ceremony and dinner. The response below from the villa that says the cash value was a total of $200 being stolen is incorrect. There were both cash and checks that we never saw but confirmed with our guests that were in the gift card box. Only 2 cards were left and both were also opened. The response from the villa says the vendors were all chosen by myself is also incorrect. The wedding vendors were all sold as a package. The morning after the wedding, I spoke to our local wedding planner regarding the stolen cards and her response when I questioned if anyone in the staff or vendors would do such a thing was, “absolutely not, we have been working with the same vendors for almost 20 years.” I was brushed off and left to feel as though the cards being stolen was my fault. As if I should have hired a personal security guard to make sure non of our belongings would get stolen. Some of our other guests also made reviews regarding the this matter which has now been deleted. The venue is beautiful. There’s no question there. It’s the reason why we chose this venue. However, Its a shame that our gift card box containing almost $3000 was stolen inside the venue during our wedding event. I hope this never happens to any other couple on such a beautiful and special day.
