We arrived to check and the loveliest lady on reception saw i was using a crutches and immediately offered a upgrade to a ground floor annexe as she thought I may struggle with the stairs. This was so appreciated. The room was lovely so clean and comfortable, a massive bed,a fan already working, a walk in shower with lovely toiletries, lots of plug points and USB points. I dont usually sleep well in hotels but I slept so long we actually missed breakfast the first morning. We ate in the restaurant the first evening and the food was absolutely wonderful, scallops followed by pork schnitzel and prawns followed by steak(with free glass of red). We requested an Eaton mess with 2 spoons and it arrived with a candle and happy birthday written on the plate.(we weren't charged for the pudding). The waitress was lovely and very attentive. When we came to breakfast the 2nd morning the lady mentioned that we hadn't had breakfast the previous day and said we could have breakfast on them as we hadn't had the previous day. All these things have really meant alot as we have been going through some difficulties recently. I cant say enough about how lovely all the staff were and what a lovely pub and b&b they have.
