San Fabiano in Monteroni d'Arbia, open JuneSeptember.

Castello di San Fabiano dates to the 11th century, originally constructed as a fortified stronghold in the heart of Tuscany's Val d'Orcia region.

The property underwent extensive restoration in the early 2000s, carefully preserving its medieval architecture while introducing modern hospitality amenities.

Today, this 900-year-old castle operates as a luxury hotel and wedding venue, offering stone-walled chambers and Renaissance courtyards for ceremonies and receptions.

A gem! My only regret is we didn’t stay more than 3 days and we missed out on the historical tour of the property. Our suite was spacious and the bedroom was very comfortable, and the bathroom was newly renovated. The morning breakfast is delightful and owner Andrea gave insightful trips on our visits to nearby sites. I’m going to visit again soon for a gal’s wine trip!
