We had our cousin brother’s two-day wedding celebration in the first week of March 2026 at Samode Palace, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Located about 45 kilometres from Jaipur and nestled in the foothills of the Aravalli Hills, the palace immediately transports you to another era. Originally dating back to the 16th century, the property carries the grandeur of a former royal residence. Walking through its courtyards, fresco-lined corridors, domed pavilions, and mirrored halls feels like stepping into living history. Yet despite its scale and grandeur, the palace also feels intimate and welcoming. With around 70 guests from both the bride and groom’s families, the palace was the perfect setting for an elegant but warm family celebration. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, full of character, with high ceilings, antique furniture, and charming alcoves overlooking the surrounding hills. Each room felt unique and carried the heritage of the palace while still offering modern comfort. The setting made the wedding even more magical. Against the pale yellow walls of the palace and its intricate arches and courtyards, the vibrant colours of the wedding outfits —bright saris, embroidered lehengas, colourful turbans, and elegant sherwanis created a spectacular atmosphere. Every turn in the palace revealed a beautiful backdrop, whether it was a terrace overlooking the hills, a courtyard glowing with lights, or a decorated pavilion prepared for one of the ceremonies. Each wedding function was thoughtfully staged in different parts of the palace, and the décor blended beautifully with the historic architecture. The arches, jali work, chandeliers, and mirrored walls created a magical setting for celebrations, especially in the evening when the palace was softly lit. The food was another highlight. As a largely vegetarian group, we were delighted by the variety and quality of the dishes. The chefs prepared exceptional meals throughout the stay, including excellent regional Rajasthani dishes along with a wide range of other options. Every meal was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented, and guests continued talking about the food long after the celebrations ended. What truly sets Samode Palace apart, however, is the hospitality. Many members of the staff have worked at the palace for decades, and their warmth and professionalism are remarkable. They welcome you not just as hotel guests but almost like visitors to a family home. Their experience shows in the way everything runs smoothly from the smallest request to managing large wedding events always with kindness and genuine smiles. Overall, the palace offers a rare combination of history, beauty, and heartfelt service. Hosting our family wedding here made the celebration even more special, and the memories of those two days —full of colour, music, great food, and wonderful hospitality will stay with all of us for a long time.
