The Pátio das Nações is a glass-roofed courtyard of over 500 square metres, lit from above all day, that holds up to 700 seated for large formats.
The Salão Árabe is 315 square metres of gold-leaf stucco modelled on the Alhambra, worked on from 1862 to 1880, with a published maximum of 300, and it is one of the few rooms in Europe where the decoration does the entire job of the design.

How many guests can Palácio da Bolsa hold?+
The palace publishes 300 as the maximum for the Salão Árabe and up to 700 seated in the central Pátio das Nações. Those are room capacities rather than wedding banquet figures, so a seated dinner with a dance floor will be well below them.
Can we hold the ceremony here as well as the dinner?+
The palace hires its rooms for ceremonies and gala dinners alike, and couples commonly pair a civil ceremony in one room with dinner in another. There is no chapel; a religious ceremony uses one of the churches in the Ribeira nearby.
Is there accommodation?+
None. The Palácio da Bolsa is a monument, not a hotel. Guests stay in Porto’s Baixa or across the river in Vila Nova de Gaia, both within ten minutes, which means transport at the end of the night is a short taxi rather than a coach.
Does the building stay open to visitors?+
The palace runs guided tours during the day and is one of Porto’s most visited buildings. Wedding access is outside tour hours, which compresses set-up time, so the supplier schedule matters more here than at a venue you take for a weekend.
Who does the catering?+
The palace provides support from catering to room decoration and technical equipment, and works with partner caterers rather than opening the building to any supplier. Ask for the current approved list before you commit to a caterer.
