Notley Abbey in Aylesbury HP17 8TN, open MayAugust.

Built in the 12th century as a Augustinian priory, Notley Abbey stands as a rare survivor of monastic architecture in Buckinghamshire, having undergone extensive restoration to become a distinctive events estate.

The venue retains its historical gravitas through original stonework and grounds spanning several acres, offering couples a setting rooted in over 800 years of English heritage.

Today it operates as a versatile wedding destination, accommodating ceremonies and receptions within its carefully preserved structures and manicured grounds.

My (now) husband and I got married at Notley in April and it was absolutely the best day of our lives. We genuinely cannot fault Notley as a venue - everything from the staff, to the food, to the grounds were PERFECT and it really made our day magical. Five stars is not enough for Notley
