Excellent buffet breakfast and dinner — we were very happy with the food selection and quality. There was also some nice light entertainment in the evenings; the live musician in the upstairs bar over the weekend was particularly good. Overall, the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. We had no complaints regarding service. Onto the negative points. We paid extra for a Deluxe Double room with River View and Balcony. Disappointingly this turned out to be a poor choice since the river side is over a very noisy road, especially with loud motorbikes late at night. Despite requesting a quiet room, nobody told us this when booking, and we were also underneath the upstairs bar which didn’t help with the noise either. In hindsight, rooms on the other side of the hotel might be quieter as they are further from the main road. The pillows also weren’t comfortable and a poor selection of pillow choices. The spa is very nice — we used the pool and sauna. As hotel guests, we were not expecting to pay extra to use the spa facilities. It’s slightly disappointing that they charge per hour, but it does mean the facilities never feel overcrowded. The rooftop infinity pool is beautiful as well, although unfortunately it was too cold to use it during our February visit. If you turn right out of the hotel, it’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the beachfront and beach shops. Turning left takes you to the marina area, which is very pretty with boats and restaurants. One thing to be aware of is that there is another hotel from the same brand called Jupiter about a 10–15 minute walk away that is much closer to the beachfront. If you plan to take evening walks after dinner or want to be right by the beach, that sister hotel may be the more convenient option.
