Attempted to check in to the hotel, which claims to be a 4 star hotel. Check in is at 2, our room wasn’t ready, there was no parking spot available for us. Even though it is guaranteed that we should have one. And now we have to park far away or pay for parking. Apparently a 4 star hotel does not provide robes, or a bell boy to help with luggage. We had to lug our own suitcases up stairs and hills. They kept claiming this is not a 5 star hotel, we do not provide these services. Imagine, you are in a hotel that caters to a vacation destination and they only allow you switch your beach towel every third day or you will be charged. We have spent over $2500 for 5 nights and the room is not only outdated, there is no upkeep. Unless, you consider the Alexa in the room. Super high tech of them.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Beautiful views from the bar and breakfast area and a 2 minute walk from the beach. Food is delicious in the restaurant. Rooms are clean and nicely designed in rustic Italian style. We are really enjoying our time here. Baja as an area is very nice albeit quite a small town.

Unfortunately, our experience at Hotel Punta Est was incredibly disappointing. We were overcharged €160 for an extra night. The hotel quoted us €440 in writing, which we accepted. When we checked out at 6:00 AM with a driver waiting, we were suddenly charged €600. No one informed us of the price change beforehand. When we contacted the hotel after returning home, they refused to refund the difference and blamed us for not double-checking the rate. They even admitted in writing that their communication was unclear, but still refused to resolve the issue. We tried to speak with the manager multiple times and were told he was unavailable.. he never followed up. The room we booked for 6 was only set up for 5, and the pull-out couch clearly only fits one person, despite staff insisting it fits two. One room’s air conditioning didn’t work, and while someone came to “fix” it, they said they’d return the next day, they never did. The shower drains were clogged, and water pooled every time. Breakfast was awful: wet scrambled eggs, stale granola with warm milk, canned fruit, and stale bread. Would not recommend staying here, overpriced, unresponsive, and lacking basic hospitality. EDIT: It was never even about the money, it was about how dishonestly the situation was handled. Even after we provided proof of the original rate we were quoted, the hotel still refused to honor it. Their response only proves our point. They claim it was our oversight for not reminding them of their own quote.. since when is it the guest’s responsibility to do that? Truly awful customer service. Judging by the other reviews, this kind of treatment isn’t a one-off. Save your money and book literally ANYWHERE else. I promise you, it’ll be a better experience than this.
