Hotel Quirinale in Roma, open June–November.
Hotel Quirinale stands out as Rome's only 4-star hotel positioned directly on Via Nazionale, offering unobstructed views of the Quirinal Palace and immediate access to the city's historic center without requiring transportation between ceremony and reception.
Built in 1950 and recently renovated, the property preserves mid-century Roman elegance while providing modern wedding infrastructure across 127 rooms and multiple event spaces.
The location eliminates the typical Roman wedding logistics challenge: guests walk from the hotel to nearby basilicas, archaeological sites, or civic venues within minutes.
The hotel is very dated but still quite pretty in appearance. Unfortunately, our experience with reception on arrival was disappointing. The staff were not particularly welcoming — we were greeted with a miserable expression and rather abrupt interactions, which didn’t make for a great first impression. Our room was very small, which we didn’t mind as it was only a base for sleeping. The cleanliness was good overall; however, our window/balcony overlooked what appeared to be a filthy alleyway, so we couldn’t have any fresh air coming in at night. The air conditioning didn’t work, and neither did the TV properly. You can’t sign into streaming apps to watch TV or movies, which would have been especially helpful as I broke my ankle during the trip and ended up spending two days in the room. The hand soaps weren’t topped up on arrival, although towels and toilet rolls were replenished daily. The beds are extremely hard, and the walls seem paper-thin — we could hear absolutely everything. We heard the guests next door talking, snoring, and even very private moments. There was also a lot of noise throughout the night that sounded like staff moving or dragging furniture, which woke me several times. Breakfast was average and nothing special. We didn’t try the restaurant food, but we did have drinks at the bar and again encountered unfriendly staff. The location is excellent, with most attractions within walking distance, which is definitely the hotel’s strongest point. However, due to the service, noise, and overall experience, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others
