Grand Hotel DiLecce

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing. • The corridors smelled strongly of damp and mold, which was really unpleasant. On top of that, they were over-air-conditioned, making the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. • The rooms are poorly maintained. The mattresses are extremely old and uncomfortable, as if they hadn’t been replaced in decades. • Towels were often damp and smelled bad, almost moldy, which my mother complained about several times. Some even seemed unclean. • The reception staff were not particularly welcoming. They were polite but lacked warmth and hospitality. • Breakfast was just passable. Nothing remarkable, just average. • The mosquito problem was unbearable. There were mosquitoes everywhere — in the lobby, in the elevators, even around the reception area. The hotel does not even provide mosquito plugs or repellents, which should be the minimum given the situation. The only positive points I can mention are the swimming pool and the immediate proximity to the train station. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to compensate for all the negative aspects. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. There are much better options in Lecce this one is to be avoided.
