F ZEEN KEFALONIA - Adults Only

After our second trip this year we still love FZeen. However, our main disappointment (and hence 4 stars) is that the AMAZING buffet breakfast we had the first visit has been removed. We love getting our own greek yogurt and choosing what toppings to put on it, we don’t really eat cooked/menu breakfasts at all. We were told this was to reduce food waste of people taking big servings and not eating it, which I get. However, for well over £900pn I want to enjoy breakfast as much as I did the first time. To management - maybe a sign at the buffet reminding people to please only take what they can eat to reduce food waste? Or at least a yogurt and toppings stand if not a full buffet breakfast - please show off your amazing Greek yogurt and honey! We’ve genuinely stopped going to certain 5star hotels because they started skimping on the breakfast buffet or removing it entirely, and I don’t want to lose FZeen too! The classes are great! I did at least 2 a day and Mum chose some of the easier yoga style ones. It’s great that the classes are graded by difficulty so you can choose better. The gym facilities are also 10/10 although get ready to sweat as they’re all outdoors! The grounds are fantastic, I love the planting 10/10. Having a Private pool by the room is also so lovely to have, I haven’t used the public pools but they all look lovely.

I booked this hotel seeking premium levels of wellness offering in a sanctuary environment for good value and the F Zeen Kefalonia delivered 9/10. Pro’s - Schedule of Activities is top tier and a key reason for the elevated pricing of the resort. - Anna - the yoga teacher is incredible and she was a daily highlight to our stay. We did Morning sunrise yoga, aerial flow and sound bath, power and Hatha yoga - she is an engaged, positive teacher and a true asset to the resort. Please ensure she is rewarded! She also got me to do my first assisted inversion which was awesome - Gardens / setting of the grounds is marvellous; trees, fruit garden, scented flowers all done very well - Beach access and all the decks (particularly the one at the top) for morning meditation - Gym facilities excellent - Staff in general is excellent; bar manager at beach bar, KOSTAS is a true delight! Athina Ines at Gaia, Defi and Yili! All a true pleasure and great hospitality - Lots of great restaurants along the beach front! Negative’s - All three pools are not heated so if in shoulder season, can be slightly disappointing to not swim much… - Our room didn’t have a great view and was above the cinema which felt weird in the evening - Check in was awful; the staff were conversing in Greek (which we understood) and quite unprofessional, probing as to the relationship between the four of us which made me quite uncomfortable - this is not 5* service and was pretty uncultured - Risotto room service arrived cold and so was not edible - Not GREAT value for money but just about good enough - paying for Paddle and Golf simulator felt unnecessary All in all it feels like it’s becoming more of a ‘for show’ / ‘influencer’ resort than true well ness so do beware it has that feel. Hopefully it retains authenticity.

Buyer beware. Offering all the amenities of a 5-Star hotel doesn’t always mean 5-Star accommodations. Maintenance called multiple times during our stay. Smoke entering our room from the hotel restaurant, safe not working, toilet not flushing, thermostat not working, maid light not working, ant nest on our porch, tree debris on porch furniture. Entire hotel has an ant infestation problem. Hotel in cahoots with certain taxi services price gouging the guests. Fraudulent charges for activities placed on our bill. Management tried to accommodate by changing our room, but the plumbing, electric and ant infestation is a hotel problem not a particular room problem.
