Overall, our stay at Elements by Ubud was a mixed experience. Pros: Smooth and hassle-free check-in process. The swimming pool was well-maintained and enjoyable. The rooms were neat, clean, and comfortable. The food was good, with decent quality and taste. Cons: I was surprised to see a property of this standard limiting drinking water to two 350 ml bottles per person per day. I've never experienced a five-star hotel being so restrictive with complimentary water. The air conditioning was the biggest disappointment during the night. On the first night, the AC barely cooled the room at night, and we couldn't sleep comfortably. Since it was already past midnight, we requested a pedestal fan just to get through the night. The hotel changed our room for the second night, but unfortunately the same issue occurred. After midnight, the room became warm again, and we literally started sweating. When we called the staff, the technician mentioned that the AC filter was dirty and needed cleaning. It was strange because the AC seemed to work fine during the day, but after around 9 PM the cooling noticeably reduced, even when the thermostat was set to 16°C. I don't know, but maybe the hotel is fixing the temperature from backend at night, overriding the room AC setting. The property has good facilities and courteous service, but the recurring AC issue significantly affected our stay. I hope the management addresses these maintenance problems and reconsiders the water policy, as these are not the standards guests expect from a premium hotel.
