01 · In a sentence

Chapel Vitaleta in San Quirico d'Orcia, open JuneSeptember.

Chapel Vitaleta sits on a working Tuscan estate in the Val d'Orcia, where rolling hills of wheat and cypress punctuate the horizon.

The 14th-century chapel commands views across the countryside, with ceremony space that opens directly onto manicured grounds and vineyard rows beyond.

A 180-person indoor capacity ensures celebrations proceed regardless of weather, anchored by on-site Catholic and civil ceremony options.

Our small group visited the chapel during a recent vacation. When you head to the chapel, you will be driving down a dirt road and then need to park in a small open area before the last turn down to the chapel. It is around a 5-10 minute walk (depending on fitness levels). The chapel door was open when we visited - allowing us to spend a moment of silent reflection. The chapel is very small, so don't expect to walk through the chapel like a normal church. After your visit, there is a small cafe where you can buy a few items and use the bathroom. Enjoy the beauty of the area.
