Your guests will remember the seamless flow from aperitif on the lawn to candlelit dining in restored rooms.
I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Château du Pin, and it's clearly a fantastic venue just outside Lyon. The château boasts a large park with a stunning view—and on a clear day, you can even see the Alps. The setting is peaceful, verdant, and perfect for imagining an entire wedding day in one place. The two large adjoining rooms can accommodate around a hundred guests, while maintaining a smooth flow between the spaces and the terraces opening onto the park. The venue also offers five suites and a gîte (self-catering cottage), which is a real bonus for extending the celebration without constraints and getting ready beforehand on-site with all your loved ones. That day, it was very, very hot—but the park provided a sublime setting for the secular ceremony, held in front of the château. There was a lot of emotion, memorable speeches, and vows that were both funny and moving… the kind of moment that makes time stand still. Despite the heat, the group photos were lively and joyful (special mention to the smoke bombs with the wedding party on the steps!). And just before the evening reception, we headed to the neighboring vineyards to enjoy the golden hour: vineyards + golden light + lovers = perfect combination. The setting is so ideal. Château du Pin is a complete, elegant venue full of possibilities, perfect for a refined wedding surrounded by nature, just a stone's throw from Lyon (and I'm thrilled to be returning in 2026 and 2027 with other couples getting married!).

Asked along the way.
Can we hold both ceremony and reception on the property?+
Yes. The estate offers multiple ceremony locations (chapel, garden terrace, lawn) and several reception spaces, eliminating the need to move guests between venues.
Is accommodation available for out-of-town guests?+
The château does not provide guest rooms, but Morancé village and nearby Lyon offer hotels and rental properties within 15-30 minutes of the venue.
What catering options are available?+
You may bring your own caterer or work with approved vendors. Contact the venue directly at https://www.lechateaudupin.fr/ for current catering partnerships and requirements.
What is the best season for an outdoor ceremony?+
May through September offers reliable weather; April and October are viable with contingency planning. The estate has covered and indoor backup spaces for all seasons.
Are there decoration restrictions?+
The château's historic architecture requires sensitivity to the space. Discuss decoration plans with management—minimal additions often work best given the venue's existing character.
