Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai in Chang Wat Chiang Mai 50200, open FebruaryDecember.

Positioned on a hillside in Chiang Mai's Su Thep district, Aleenta Retreat commands views across forested terrain and the city valley below.

The property's contemporary architecture rises from landscaped grounds that blend into the natural surroundings, offering elevated sightlines and cooler mountain air.

This 4-star hotel operates as a full-service venue with on-site accommodations, allowing guests to experience the altitude and verdant setting before, during, and after your celebration.

Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai feels incredibly secluded and intimate despite being only about 15 minutes from the airport and Old Town. It’s tucked into a quiet residential area near the base of Doi Suthep, so the atmosphere is calm and retreat-like rather than feeling like a typical city hotel. Because the property is small, service feels very personal and the team quickly learns guest preferences. There are also thoughtful touches throughout the property that make the experience feel very intentional. For example, the pool area always has sunscreen available for guests, which is such a simple but appreciated detail in Chiang Mai’s heat. The staff is also so attentive when it comes to allergies, and always find a way to adapt the menu to accommodate. One of my favorite details is their “Aleenta Frog.” Guests place a small frog on the bed if they would like their linens changed, or outside the door if they prefer not to have housekeeping. It’s a charming touch that reflects the property’s sustainability focus while still feeling playful and personal. I’d position it for travelers looking for a peaceful base in Chiang Mai — somewhere they can explore temples or the city during the day and return to a quiet, wellness-focused environment in the evenings.
