Located in Chiang Mai's vibrant Nimman district, the 4.7-rated hotel offers both indoor and outdoor venues within a single property, allowing you to control weather contingencies without venue-hopping.
I booked this hotel for a first time visit to Chiang Mai, it’s not clear during booking that this hotel is on a military base. I think it’s quite deceptive to list this location as Nimman and not 41st Wing Thai Air Force Base as everything is labeled when you arrive. I don’t think foreigners or tourists should be allowed to book accommodation here without some kind of notice. Leaving your room is pointless because there are no amenities besides a restaurant that serves a mediocre breakfast. It felt like I was in prison since you can’t walk around freely, you have to book a car or shuttle to leave and enter. I had to check out early because we as a family did not feel comfortable staying here. Label the location clearly and let guests decide if location is good for their visit.

Asked along the way.
Can we host both ceremony and reception at the venue?+
Yes. The Grand Chaiyapruek offers multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing separate ceremony and reception setups or combined celebrations depending on guest count and preference.
What happens if weather affects our outdoor ceremony?+
The hotel has covered pavilions and climate-controlled indoor spaces as backup options, allowing you to pivot your setup on the day-of without relocating.
Are accommodations included in the wedding package?+
Accommodations are separate from wedding venue fees. However, guests staying at the hotel receive preferred rates, and the on-property setup means no transportation between ceremony and celebration.
How far is the venue from Chiang Mai International Airport?+
Approximately 20-25 minutes by car from the airport, making guest arrival and departure manageable without requiring off-site accommodations.
Can we bring our own caterer or must we use the hotel's kitchen?+
Contact the venue directly to discuss external catering policies. Most hotels offer in-house catering options, though exceptions can sometimes be negotiated for dietary or cultural requirements.
