The wedding weekend: the time in between.

I hate to throw around the phrase "best wedding ever," but Perrie and Walt's wedding in South Tyrol was genuinely one of the greatest weekends of my life.

Sure, it was magical to watch two of my favorite people exchange vows and commit to a lifetime of love and laughter. But what made the weekend unforgettable wasn't the Michelin-star food, the vibrant florals, or even the 162 (correct) espresso martinis consumed in one evening.

It was the time in between the itinerary.

The weddings I've been to have been good—great, even. But they usually happen inside a bubble. You're assigned a seat, you spend most of the night talking to the people next to you, maybe branch out during the dance floor portion of the evening, and then everyone calls their own Uber back to separate hotels.

This weekend was different.

Everyone stayed at the same place—the wedding venue itself. It felt like summer camp for adults, except with beer and an absurdly good breakfast buffet.

The stranger I bumped elbows with over aperitivo the night before was hugging me good morning over coffee. Walter's elusive childhood friend was sitting crisscross by the pool, telling ridiculous stories from growing up while holding court with Perrie's college roommates. Family friends I'd only heard about were telling me to come visit. Plans were being made.

It wasn't worlds colliding for one evening.

It was worlds connecting.

There was nowhere to be but here. No one was checking Uber prices or wondering who had to leave early to catch a shuttle. I walked down the hall to help a family friend decide which dress to wear and somehow ended up chatting with Perrie's sisters on the way. The hours between events became the events.

It felt like we were watching all the love that had been poured into Perrie and Walt over their lives not just show up for one beautiful, slightly drunken evening, but stretch across an entire weekend. There wasn't this crushing pressure for one "perfect day"—even though it was perfect—because perfection wasn't in the timeline.

It was everyone laughing over coffee together.

And that's about as good as it gets.

When Walter and Perrie first joked about renting an entire castle in Italy, I laughed. My brain immediately skipped to logistics. Is Walter really Venmo-requesting every one of Perrie's seemingly infinite cousins for room and board? What happens if someone forgets to pay? Are you just floating tens of thousands of dollars while hoping Uncle Bob remembers to reimburse you? Do guests have to call the venue with some secret booking code?

Then Aisle was born.

I'll admit, I was a little suspicious at first. Walter's building a payment portal? Okay... where is this going? Do I get a receipt? What exactly am I paying for?

Oh.

This is what I was paying for.

Aisle takes one of the biggest logistical headaches out of planning a wedding weekend. Guests book and pay for their rooms through the portal, without awkward money conversations (as if weddings don't already have enough of those), and the payments go directly where they need to go. Instead of chasing people down or acting like a hotel front desk, you actually get to be the bride and groom.

Which means you can have weekends like this.

You really can have it all—and honestly, why shouldn't you?

You deserve more than a few rushed hours with all of your favorite people. Your wedding can be more than a beautiful photo on the wall or a registry gift sitting on the kitchen counter. It can be a weekend where your favorite people leave knowing each other a little better, knowing you a little better, with new stories, new memories, and maybe even a few new lifelong friends.

I know I did.

And I know that whenever I get married—God help us—I want all of my beloved people to hunker down, slow down, and spend a weekend together.
