We couldn't recommend the Winehouse more! The most incredible venue and team. We planned our wedding remotely with Sam taking care of absolutely everything - and Amy was incredible on our day. Everyone says planning a wedding is hard - but the Winehouse make it super easy. They have great options to choose from or are happy to make your ideas come to life! Nothing is too hard. They also had great vendor recommendations which made planning a breeze. On the day - we had some 'average' weather and the Winehouse had both ceremony options set up so we could make the call right before the ceremony - they also had the fires going to stay warm and the service was incredible. Our guests raved about our venue and we couldn't be happier with our choice! 11/10.

07 · Questions

Asked along the way.

Can we hold both ceremony and reception at Winehouse?+

Yes. The estate has distinct indoor and outdoor spaces suited to ceremonies and receptions. The property's layout allows guests to move between areas while maintaining sightlines to the surrounding landscape.

Is accommodation available on-site?+

Winehouse itself functions as an events venue. However, Gibbston and the broader Arrowtown area offer lodges, hotels, and boutique stays within 15 to 30 minutes. Your coordinator can provide local accommodation recommendations.

What catering options are available?+

The venue works with approved external caterers or can recommend local operators who understand the property and regional produce. Wine and beverages can be sourced through the on-site facility.

Is the venue weather-dependent?+

The estate offers covered spaces and indoor areas, reducing weather risk. Central Otago experiences variable conditions, so contingency planning with your coordinator is standard for outdoor components.

What is the nearest airport?+

Queenstown Airport (ZQN) is approximately 45 km away, roughly a 45-minute drive. Christchurch Airport (CHC) is a secondary option at 360 km, taking 4 to 4.5 hours by car.
