Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel in Fiesole, open June–September.
A fifteenth-century Franciscan monastery in the hills of Fiesole, its façade traditionally attributed to Michelangelo, converted into one of Italy’s most storied hotels — Napoleon requisitioned what is now the Michelangelo suite as his headquarters.
The signature is the Loggia: a panoramic dining terrace with the Duomo and all of Florence spread below, a view no other venue near the city can stage a dinner against.
There is an original chapel for intimate ceremonies, terraced Renaissance gardens cascading toward the city, and Belmond’s in-house banqueting office running everything.
The hotel reopened in April 2026 after an eighteen-month renovation of all 39 rooms and suites.
